Slow one viewer down
Create a review window without deleting their past comments or banning the account.
Use case
The same viewer keeps crossing the line after several of their comments have already been held.
Repeat offenders
Put them on probation. Their new comments are held for you, for as long as you said.
Make the call from the viewer profile. In Settings, you can separately enable probation after repeated confirmed Automatic holds; it is off by default. A dated probation lifts itself, while an indefinite one waits for you.

Open the viewer profile
Review the comments and moderation history the tray still has.
Choose Probation
Add a reason and duration. In Settings, separately choose whether repeated Automatic holds should start probation. Put someone on probation and, with the reach-back tick left on, the tray holds what they posted in the last 30 days as well, subject to its usual limits.
Let new comments arrive
New video comments can be held automatically, subject to Pause, YouTube quota and recovery checks.
Lift or let it expire
End it early, or let a dated probation lift itself. An indefinite probation stays until you lift it.
